FIVE YEAR
ANNIVERSARY GALA!

It’s our birthday!

We’re turning 5, and we want to celebrate this milestone year in our favorite way:
by spending it with you.

April 9th, 2022
6:00pm - 9:00pm

Poughkeepsie Trolley Barn
489 Main St, Poughkeepsie, NY

ABOUT THE GALA

Join us on April 9th, 2022 at the Poughkeepsie Trolley Barn for live performances, auction items, games, and prizes to celebrate 5 years of uplifting and connecting the vibrant Hudson Valley performing arts community through educational and collaborative programming.

We recommend you wear comfortable but nice clothes - anything creative/tasteful/fun/silly that makes you feel good.

Schedule of Events:

6:00PM - Doors Open! Grab a bite to eat or a drink from the cash bar, mingle with friends, and check out our raffle and silent auction with prizes donated by local businesses and performing arts venues across the Hudson Valley.

7:00PM - Welcome! A word from the Lab's Founding Artistic Director Liz Dahmen and a very fun game. You'll see.

7:20PM - Live Event! We'll be premiering a new video about the Lab (watch the trailer below), celebrating some accomplishments, and announcing a few upcoming collaborations. Catch a live musical performance by Kristen Battersby and an exclusive preview of Performing Art 2022 from members of this year's ensemble.

We'll also be announcing raffle and auction winners, so make sure you stick around!

8:30PM - Last Call! We'll close out the night with music, dancing, and camaraderie.

Prizes? Raffles? Auctions?

You heard right! Tonight's event will feature prizes including Lab merch and gifts generously donated from organizations across the Hudson Valley. Auction and raffle items include theatre tickets, curated gift baskets, Mohonk Memberships valued at $355, a private Manitoga tour package valued at $600, and more.

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT

As with all of our programming, the most important way you can support us is to show up. However, whether you are unable to attend, or already have your tickets and are looking for more ways to show the love, there are plenty of options to help us make this birthday party a proper blowout:

Sponsorship Opportunities!

We are actively seeking Event Sponsors to help us create a memorable night for our entire community. It’s a great way to raise awareness about your business whilst supporting the Lab’s free and low-cost programming in the performing arts!

Donate a Ticket!

It’s important to us that everybody who wants to attend this event is able to, regardless of their means. By purchasing an extra ticket, you can help us make sure that happens - simply indicate in the comments section at checkout that you would like for one or more of your tickets to be shared with the community.

Support us on Fractured Atlas!

Because nearly all of our programming is free or pay-what-you-can, the generosity of our community is a big part of what keeps us afloat. Contributions shared through Fractured Atlas, including yearly Lab Memberships, are tax-deductible and hugely beneficial to our organization.

THANK YOU!

Thank you to our current Sponsors and Benefactors! We couldn't be able to pull this event off without your enthusiasm and generosity. Everyone, a round of applause!

About the Lab

ABOUT THE LAB

Originally known as the Middle Company, the Lab was first established in 2017 to fill a specific need: bringing people together.

Created as a space to make theatre community-driven and non-competitive, we have
been serving performing artists of all ages and experience levels in the Hudson Valley at low-to-no cost ever since.

Five years later, we have hosted hundreds of free events and workshops, and dozens of low-cost classes for professional development. We have produced eight devised shows (currently in rehearsals for a ninth!), as well as facilitated the development of new work by local playwrights and composers through readings and rehearsal workshops. Friendships have bloomed, community partnerships have sprung up, our staff has grown, and we continue to seek out and find ways to connect.

Tickets to attend our Five Year Anniversary Gala are available now.
