In this lecture-based class we will explore the current state of auditioning as well as the future of it. Self-tapes may be necessary in a COVID-era casting landscape, but embracing the usefulness of this technology will serve anyone looking to audition moving forward. We will look at examples of successful self-tapes and discuss what casting directors are looking for. The lecture will be followed by a Q & A.
About the Guest Artist:
Bernard F. Bunye has over 13 years of experience in talent management. He has worked at Sweet 180, Intrepid Talent Management (co-owner), Brownstone Entertainment Management (owner), SirenSong Entertainment and is now co-owner of Forte Artist Management. Bernard has recently been interviewed on the blog project The Obvious Path. He is a sought after speaker, sharing his expertise around the country at acting programs such as Brown University/Trinity Repertory Company, Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Playhouse, Long Island University, Sarah Lawrence College, Brooklyn College and The Maggie Flanigan Studio. He co-created Self-Tape Champions: a virtual class on self-tape auditions with longtime client Robbie Tann. He hails from Cleveland, Ohio and currently lives in Cold Spring, New York with his wife and two kids.
