Devised theater offers an ensemble the opportunity to make unique and relevant theater in a short period of time. While techniques vary widely, this class will put a few approaches under the microscope as well as begin the process of building our own piece of devised theater.

About The Event

Instructor: Liz Dahmen
Liz is the founding Artistic Director of the Hudson Valley Performing Arts Laboratory. As a director, Liz's work has been seen at The NY International Fringe Festival, Dixon Place, and The Knitting Factory. Recent devised theater pieces include "Living Closely," and two incarnations of "Medea." She is the author of numerous theater pieces, including “Love Songs, Candy Hearts, and Form Letters,” “Teach A Girl To Fish,” and “The Lesbian Overtones Interfaith Holiday Spectacular.” Liz has worked as a teaching artist for The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival since 2015.
