Getting Started In Voiceover with Kamal Sehrawy

This single-session voiceover workshop centers around identifying and nurturing the core skills required of an actor in voiceover. The first step for any voice actor is familiarizing yourself with the tools at your disposal - as a group, we will uncover our vocal ranges and resonators so we may apply them towards the process of character creation. Utilizing our collective imaginations and sense of play, we’ll discover how to make bold, instantaneous choices that make each performance distinct from the last. Students will participate in fun, impulsive voiceover exercises and have the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned to character sides from animated programs. Once we have built a foundation for vocal performance, we will conclude with a brief tutorial on how to design and construct your own voice-over demo using free software and affordable equipment as well as a broad overview of websites and resources to begin your voice acting journey.
