About The Event

Kimberlea Kressal is an LA-based writer, director, and producer. She sold her semi-autobiographical queer dramedy “Stealth” to Escape Artists/UCP. She developed her political drama “Scorched Earth” with producer Gavin Polone/Pariah and is developing her limited series “How To Breathe Underwater” with Automatik/MGM. Kimberlea is the writer and librettist of the stage musical “Lesbian Love Octagon,” which played to sold-out houses and rave reviews off Broadway and is in development as a series with DiGa Studios. For ten years she was the Resident Director for the New York City-based theatre company Wreckio Ensemble. She has been honored with artistic residencies and grants from Chashama, Horsetrade Theatre Group, The League of Independent Theatre, and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. She has twice been named one of Go Magazine’s “100 Women We Love.” She is an arts education and LGBTQ+ activist who has built her career around elevating the stories of women and LGBTQ+ people. She is the Creator/Producer of Tisch Represents, an interdisciplinary community of NYU Tisch School of the Arts alumni, with a focus on artists whose voices are underrepresented in television and film. Kimberlea received her BFA in Drama from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She is represented by Manage-Ment and Creative Artists Agency (CAA). In high school, Kimberlea received state and national accolades for her pantomime about...wait for it...fetal alcohol syndrome. www.kimberleakressal.com
