About The Event
In this four-part class, we will dive deeply into the devising process from the director’s point of view.
We will begin by exploring our motivations for making theater in this unique way. What draws us to this experimental and unpredictable work? How can we harness our individual directing style to serve our project?
Each student will develop a devising project and take it through critical developmental stages, beginning with a concept and proceeding through a project outline, location options, casting plan, and schedule.
Whether you have a devising project in mind that you’d like to workshop or you want to be led through the concept-to-launch process, this class is for anyone ready to learn about leadership and ensemble-forward theater-making.
The class fee covers all four two-hour classes, and class is limited to 8 participants.
